The Age-friendly Leadership Network was formed in December 2007 to engage leaders from a wide range of diverse sectors and perspectives in developing age-friendly communities in BC.

The Network consists of leaders of business, financial, professional, government, Aboriginal, service and community and seniors’ organizations who are in positions to influence change in their communities and to support the creation of age-friendly communities by:

  • Advising on the most effective approaches to achieve Age-friendly goals province-wide.
  • Supporting and guiding the Age-friendly Communities Implementation Team.
  • Receiving information about Age-friendly Communities and passing it on to their colleagues and within their communities.
  • Identifying potential roles for their respective organizations, sectors and communities, including leadership roles, in bringing about lasting improvements to benefit older people in communities across BC.
  • Helping to link Age-friendly initiatives with similar groups and activities for the benefit of the entire community.
